Butterfly or Moth?

Butterfly or Moth?

Here is this week's Photo of the Week. Is it a butterfly or is it a moth?  I'm not completely sure but the large body makes me think it's really a moth.  Any entomologists out there that might have an idea?  This was taken on our Rocky Mountain trip this summer. It was at the Lake Louise Fairmont Hotel where the flowers were spectacular.

New Covered Bridge Gallery

New Covered Bridge Gallery

I just published a new gallery called "Covered Bridges" on my website.  Right now, I'm focusing on the covered bridges in Michigan.  I have 3 in the collection right now but my goal is to get as many as I can as soon as I can.  I have these bridges so far: (all photos are clickable so you can go directly to the gallery on my website)

And for those that know me and know I live in Ada, you might ask "So where is the Ada Covered Bridge?"   Good question.  I have a few pictures of it but it's a tough bridge to photograph. There are trees around it from wherever you might take a picture.  But I'll get something soon I hope.  If you're interested in the other covered bridges in Michigan here's a link to a wikipedia article on them.

Keep watching this gallery as it grows with more covered bridge photographs - both in Michigan and Beyond!!

A Walk in the Woods

Glacier National Park Style

A Walk in the Woods

Here is this week's Photo of the Week. I call this one "A Walk in the Woods - Glacier National Park Style" because I have another photo I called "Walk in the Woods" that was from Alaska. This one from Glacier National Park has a similar warm, enticing feel about it. Plus, it has a great star-burst sun coming through the trees. This picture just looks like you could walk right into the picture and go on a great hike in the national park.

Continental Divide Flowers

Here is this week's Photo of the Week. When we were traveling in Glacier National Park last month, we stopped at Visitor Center at Logan Pass. As I walked around the grounds, these deep blue flowers jumped out at me.  I really don't know what kind they are but I was taken with the vibrant royal blue.  And notice the accent of yellow and red flowers in the corner of the picture.  If you know what these are, feel free to leave comment and let us all know.
